Opening up the ground floor is one of the most common changes we make to a property. That means taking out a load bearing wall, putting in steels and moving the services before the kitchen goes in.
The structural stage needs to be designed properly. Once that is right, the rest of the room follows.
Renovating the kitchen you have
A kitchen renovation can mean replacing units in the existing layout, or stripping the room back and changing how it works. Moving plumbing and electrics gives more freedom over the layout but adds to the scope.
We will talk through what the room allows and what each option involves before anything is ordered.

Where there is space, a utility room or pantry takes pressure off the main kitchen. Both need thought about drainage, ventilation and where appliances sit.

Questions about kitchen renovations
Do you supply the kitchen as well as fit it?
We can work either way. Some clients supply their own kitchen and we install it, and others prefer us to handle the supply as part of the project. We will agree it in writing at the start.
Can you remove a wall to open up the kitchen?
Yes, that is a common part of the work. It is structural, so it needs an engineer's design, appropriate steelwork and building control involvement, all of which we handle.
Can the kitchen be part of an extension?
Yes. Many of the kitchens we fit are part of a wider extension or renovation, which means the layout and the services can be planned from the start.
